Dental Aid Videos

Following your professional cleaning, you received your OHI Card.  Inside the card, your dental provider has marked the dental aids that will enhance your daily oral care routine.  For each box checked you can watch the corresponding video here.

Proxy Brush

Interdental cleaning

Cleaning of periodontal pockets, in between teeth, and around bridges and crown.  Replace brush weekly.

Flossers

One hand flossing

Easier to maneuver than traditional flossing especially those with dexterity problems.  Make sure to focus on line angles (corners) of teeth. Use  new one at each application.

Sulcus Brush

Pocket cleaner

Cleans periodontal pockets >4mm for those with periodontal disease, Replace brush weekly. 

TIP:  Pour a small amount in the cap and swirl brush in then go into pockets.

Gum Stimulator

Increase blood flow

Exercise and stimulate the gums to increase blood flow and provide healing.  Loosens plaque at and under the gumline.  Wipe clean after every use.

Floss Threader

Bridges & Crowns

Assist in passing dental floss around fixed bridge work.  Only for threading floss through. Can use until it breaks down.

Motorized Brush

The best way to brush

The best tool for providing superior plaque removal compared to manual toothbrushing.  The best brush has a round head, filled with bristles, rechargeable, and spins 360 degrees.  The video shows the Triple Bristle recommended for elderly patients.  Change heads every 3 months.

Tongue Cleaner

Clean hairs from bacteria

To clean the top surface hairs on the tongue. There are many designs. Scrape until the tongue looks more pink in color and follow up with an antibacterial rinse.  Rinse to clean.

Super Floss

Bridges & Crowns

Removes plaque and debris around fixed dental bridges and crowns.  Comes with a threading end and use a new piece at each application.

Water Irrigator

Remove food debris

Removes debris from teeth and gums.  It is not for the complete removal of plaque (too sticky) but provides a great flushing action for the mouth. Also great for irrigation of medicaments.
